If we have a good heart, we experience much happiness and relaxation. We have no reason to feel angry or jealous and we have a very happy mind. When we speak, sweet words come out. Even our face is happy and smiling. At night we go to bed with a happy mind and have a very comfortable sleep, without any worries.

98 year old Dobri Dobrev, (pictured) a man who lost his hearing during World War II, walks 10 kilometers from his Bulgarian village in his homemade clothes and leather shoes to the city of Sofia, where he spends the day begging for money. Although he is well known around several of the city’s churches, for his prostrations of thanks to all donors, it was only recently discovered that he has donated every penny he has collected — over 40,000 Euros — towards the restoration of decaying Bulgarian monasteries and churches and the utility bills of orphanages. He is modestly living off his monthly state pension of 80 Euros.

"Some of us have long asked why we cannot hold on to happiness. For all of the scholarship and human insights across centuries, nobody has found a complete and enduring answer. Perhaps because it has been too close to see…The answer, the key, is our heart."

My deepest belief is that there is greatness inside all of us. And to access it, we must align ourselves with a greater purpose, commit to excellence, and seek to improve every day.
