After posting a photo of my morning breakfast, last Tuesday on facebook, I was socked by the interest it drew. I had over 22 persons 'liking' the photo and some even commented asking for recipes. And those that know me personally, know I just love taking about a health inspired lifestyle. Plus, I've been meaning to start posting recipes here for so long now and just never started. So with a roll of the drum.... let's go!

Green smoothies are just the thing if you need something more filling, like a snack or a light-ish breakfast. Or if you need to get yourself some fibre — because all the ingredients are blended, you still get all the fibre from the fruits and vegetables. And blended fibre is easier to digest.
How to make a super green smoothie
You can make smoothies as heavy or as light as you like — depending on your energy and hunger needs. My mom usually makes her smoothies so thick that she literally eats it like a chilled soup, with a spoon out of a bowl or cup! I prefer to drink mine, though.
now for the fun part..the recipe.

Smoothie base:
1 banana
2 large handful Pak Choi
1 handful Spinach 2 tbsp walnuts or nuts of your choice
1 stick celery
1 gala apple
1 bosc pear
2 tbsp cashew nut butter
2 tsp goji seeds
2 cups coconut water
1tbsp virgin coconut oil

Blend all ingredients in high-powered blender until smooth. You can drink like this or add extras to make your meal more substantial. Here, I added

2 ripe bananas cut in half
Diced, ripe Julie mango and
Thawed berries.
